Thank you so much to everyone. I’ve received so much love over the past few days. I can’t believe how supportive people have been! Also, over 750 t-shirts have been ordered with proceeds going to Detroit Swims. My success in the pool is a testament to the great people who are around me and supporting my dream. This medal is for all of you!
I’ve added some more pictures.
Also, Davis fires back on me in the latest BTN entry.
Please vote for my club coach Jeff Cooper for this inspiration Award. Jeff has coached me since age twelve and he and his wife were on hand to watch me live in London. Jeff is the man and certainly deserves this honor!
GO USA!

Since I am going to be writing for MGoBlue, Big Ten Network, and the Detroit Free Press, it makes much more sense for me to just link those sites rather than writing more stuff here. Also, since Europeans prefer the internet equivalent of 1995 AOL dial-up, it will save me a lot of time. However, I will be posting pictures here once I get to the Olympic village in London. I’ll be sure to link the latest updates as they come down the line.

Read moreOur training camp is in Knoxville, TN until Saturday, when we leave for Europe. We’ll spend about a week in Vichy, France before jumping over to London. So far our time here has been awesome. The facilities are great and Knoxville is a fantastic city to experience. It kind of reminds me of a slightly larger and southern version of Ann Arbor. I wish I had more time to check it out.
Tonight we had a team dinner at a Team USA supporter’s residence. There was awesome food, a live band, and the house was amazing with tons of cool art.
Team USA is beginning to gel and I feel like I’ve got a chance to meet and learn about my new teammates. Everyone is working hard and focused on one goal, winning in London. Tonight I had the honor of being elected one of the men’s team co-captains. Being elected to represent my peers at the Olympics is one of the greatest personal accolades in my life to date. I really appreciate it. I also recently learned that I was elected Athlete Executive Committee Chairman to the USOC. I am also very proud to serve my fellow national team members in this position. Thanks everyone for the support!
For more updates on Team USA and our journey, check out the Big Ten Network website. I, along with Davis Tarwater, Connor Jaeger, and Matt Grevers will be taking turns writing about our experiences on Team USA.
Finally, my family has created a PVK support t-shirt for the Olympics that will be available for purchase at a very reasonable price. The shirts will be sold through Underground Printing and can be found HERE. They will be on sale until the 18th so act quick! Most importantly, all the profits will go to the Detroit Swims Initiative at the Boll Family YMCA in Detroit. I can personally vouch for this program, it’s amazing! So even if you don’t like me, buy the shirt to support making children in Detroit water-safe.
I also added more pictures from Trials last week. Lochte was kind enough to let me jump on his private flight back to Gainesville.
